Rules relating to the Sharad Pawar Scholarship Scheme
1.
The scholarship shall be called as 'Sharad Pawar Scholarship Scheme'.
2.
The scholarship will be available to the students in the age group of 12 to 21 years.
3.
The awardee has to be a bonafide student studying in a recognized school, junior college or a degree college.
4.
The scholarship shall be available to the players registered with MCA and representing MCA.
5.
In any year minimum 3 girls will be selected for the scholarship, provided there are 3 or more eligible girl candidates in that year.
6.
Maximum of 90% of the annual interest accrued (net of tax) on the main corpus shall be distributed in that year under this scheme, while the remaining 10% amount shall be ploughed back.
7.
The scheme is a merit-cum-means and need based scheme. Hence, while selecting the awardees the financial status of the student and the financial need will be taken into account.
8.
The minimum conditions for the award are as follows:
a.
The applicant must be a bonafide student studying in a recognized school, junior college or a degree college; a certificate to that effect must be produced from the respective Head of the Institute.
b.
The candidate should write in the application form his/her explicit requirements to be met through this scholarship.
c.
The candidate should have shown talent in cricket as certified by any recognized club or by the Head of Institution.
d.
The applicant should be from an economically weaker section of the society.
9.
The candidate shall be eligible for the scheme upto the age of 21 years.
10.
The total amount to be disbursed in each group as well as the maximum amount to be given to a candidate are flexible.
11.
The scholarship shall be for a minimum period of one year and maximum period of three years from the date of sanction of the scholarship. If a candidate is consistent in his/her performance and needs further assistance, he/she has to apply afresh.
12.
The assistance shall be available for items like tuition fee, cricket training fee, cost of the cricket equipment, travel needs, attending a training camp and medical help.
13.
The amount decided shall be directly deposited in the Bank Account of the selected candidate / institute where the awardee is studying. If the amount is deposited in the institute, the institute will make the actual payment as per the conditions of the scholarship.
14.
If a candidate is getting scholarship/sponsorship/financial assistance from any other source but is unable to cover his/her specific requirements approved under this scheme, the MCA may decide to give him/her additional assistance through this scholarship.
15.
The MCA reserves the right to increase, to decrease or to stop the scholarship during the assistance year without giving a formal notice and the decision of the scholarship committee shall be final.
16.
A committee shall consist of all the Office bearers who shall invite the applications, scrutinize them and select the awardees.
17.
The Scholarship shall be finalized in consultation with the President.
