He has been elected as the Member of the Managing Committee in the Biennial Election held on 17th June 2015.

A visionary leader, meticulous planner and hawk eyed executor the President of Maharastra Pradesh Congress Committee - Sports Cell, Shahalam handles 54 districts under his purview for development of cricket. He plays an instrumental role in evolution of cricket right from school to college to state level talent.
   
Shahalam Shaikh is also part of the Management Commitee for Mazgaon Cricket Club & Stylo Cricketers these clubs have gone beyond the conventional gender, age & location limitation setting benchmark for other to follow under his leadership. His club has helped cricket reach girls & boys of every age group and every town in the state.
   
He also publishes a magazine i.e. Sports Fever in Hindi & Marathi for uplifment of cricket through regular exchange of knowledge with expert opinion, match updates, schedule and cricketer speak. Addtionally also initiated Cricket Vilas Award in 2012 to fecilitate upcoming, enthusiastic & deserving talent.
   
Has been active member of the MCA and has coupled the sporting passion with professional management skills in the activities of the MCA. He was the Manager with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy Team in November 2014.
   
Nurturing Rural India:
   
Shahalam Shaikh has ensured cricket & nurturing of cricketing talent breaks the Metro & Rural boundaries by developing the following pitches.
   
1)
Cricket pitch in Kharghar, Raigad.
   
2)
Cricket pitch in Karjat.
   
Cricket For Every Age:
   
He has also envisaged imparting cricket right from a young age by initiating & organizing the following tournaments
   
1)
Boys cricket tournament for school students Under 14 & Under 16.
   
2)
Navi Mumbai tennis tournament for Under 14 & Under 16.
   
3)
District Sports Office Mumbai cricket tournament for Under 12, Under 14 & Under 16 which had 260 schools participated from across Mumbai.
